Most craps pro's will tell you that the best basic bets on the craps table are the most basic bets in the house; the Pass Line and Don't Pass Line wagers (although the Come and Don't Come bets have very similar attributes):

The Pass Line bet is the first place any craps gamer should start-out, but it's also the bet that should remain as one of the main bets used in the game. To implement the bet, place a wager and proceed to make the 'come out roll'; the round is then determined by specific roll scores:l

> Score 2, 3 or 12 for craps/to lose
> Score 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 to form a point; roll the point value before a 7 to win

Don't Pass Line craps wagering
Naturally, the Don't Pass Line bet is simply the opposite of the Pass Line bet, so it's just as easy to play and understand, with a few outcomes based on dice score:
> Win on rolls of 2 and 3
> Hit craps on scores of 7 or 11
> Roll 12 to draw
> Score any other value to hit a point and roll the point before 7 to win.
Free odds
Once you're happy making the Pass Line and Don't Pass Line (or Come bets), then if your online casino offers the option – take up the 'free odds' betting feature whenever possible after the bets. Essentially, this betting feature further reduces the house edge on these wagers (which is already really low). In some big Vegas casino you can make x30 or x100 odds which create a 0% edge for the casino, but online you're more likely to find double odds.
